MoneyKhata is designed with a local-first approach. Your financial records are stored on your device by the app. This page explains how to remove your local MoneyKhata data and what happens to optional backups and your sign-in account.
MoneyKhata is designed so that your core financial records—such as expenses, income, people, Khata entries, reminders, categories and settings—are stored locally on your device rather than in a MoneyKhata financial-data server.
No server-side financial ledger to delete.
MoneyKhata does not maintain a central copy of your local financial ledger that can be deleted from a server on your behalf.
Because the financial data is local, removing the app from your device removes the app's locally stored data according to your device's operating-system behavior.
If you want to permanently remove the financial data currently stored on your device, you can uninstall MoneyKhata from that device.
If you may want your data later, make sure you have an encrypted MoneyKhata backup before uninstalling the app.
Remove the MoneyKhata app from your device using your device's normal uninstall process.
The locally stored MoneyKhata financial records associated with that installation are removed according to the operating system's app-data handling.
Important: Uninstalling the app does not automatically delete an encrypted backup that you previously exported or uploaded to your own Google Drive. You control those backup files and can delete them separately from the location where you stored them.
MoneyKhata backups are intended to contain an encrypted snapshot of your MoneyKhata data. The backup file is protected with the backup password you choose in the app.
A backup is separate from the data currently stored by the app. Creating or uploading a backup does not create a live copy of your financial ledger on MoneyKhata's servers.
If you exported an encrypted .mkbk backup file to your device or another location, that file remains under your control. Delete the file yourself if you want to remove that backup.
If you explicitly uploaded an encrypted backup to your Google Drive, the encrypted file remains in your Google Drive until you delete it. MoneyKhata does not need a plaintext copy of your financial ledger in order to restore from the encrypted backup.
Want to recover your data?
If you reinstall MoneyKhata, you can use a valid MoneyKhata backup to restore your data. You will need the backup password used when the backup was created.
If you lose the backup password, MoneyKhata cannot recover or bypass it for you.
MoneyKhata can use an optional sign-in identity for authentication. This identity is separate from your local financial ledger.
If you have signed in with Google or phone authentication and want to remove that authentication identity, use the in-app account controls:
MoneyKhata → Settings → Account → Delete Account
Account deletion and local financial-data deletion are separate actions. Deleting the sign-in identity does not automatically delete an encrypted backup that you have exported or stored in your own Google Drive, and uninstalling the app does not by itself request deletion of a separate authentication identity.
Before deleting anything: If you want to preserve your MoneyKhata records, create and safely store an encrypted backup first.
MoneyKhata does not keep a server-side copy of your local financial ledger for you to retrieve after uninstalling the app.
These distinctions are intentional so that your financial records remain under your control rather than being maintained as a central MoneyKhata ledger.
